At the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis, we’re committed to changing that. This year, we’re investing $1.8 million in 38 local nonprofit organizations — including 15 focused on Youth Development and Employment.

Real Impact: Girls Experiencing Engineering (GEE)

One of our grantee partners, Girls Experiencing Engineering at the University of Memphis, is opening doors for underrepresented youth in STEM fields.

GEE by the Numbers:

• 95% of participants go on to college
• Nearly 60% major in STEM, and 28% in engineering
• 85% come from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups
• 87% of high school mentors continue in STEM pathways

“GEE helped me figure out what I want to do in college… I’ve enjoyed the program so much, I’m now considering becoming an engineer!”
