Who are Young Women Philanthropists?
We are young, energetic, professional, resourceful, confident, family-oriented, insightful, influential, persuasive women committed to learning, contributing and owning ... Philanthropy.

Background
Young Women Philanthropists (YWP) is an initiative of The Women's Foundation for a Greater Memphis. YWP was reborn through the Women's Funding Network Cultures of Giving Project (COG). COG is funded through the Kellogg Foundation and is designed to build the capacity of people of color-led organizations in fundraising within organized philanthropy.

Purpose
YWP is focused on educating, empowering and training the next generation of philanthropic women leaders through active participation in fundraising. We are training today to fill the shoes of the more experienced philanthropists tomorrow.

Goals

  • Learn about philanthropy and the importance of giving
  • Contribute in a manner that has a greater impact (than individual giving)
  • Own the concept of philanthropy - giving our time, talent and treasure

For additional information about YWP or to find out how to join, call WFGM at 901.578.9346 or e-mail administration@wfgm.org.
