There are no exact words to describe the countless hours and gallant moments spent by volunteers helping other women reach their full potential. The Women’s Foundation volunteers do this on a regular basis working tirelessly to help fulfill the mission by serving on different committees such as the Grants Committee or serving on a project such as Annual Tribute Luncheon. The spirit of the Women’s Foundation can be found in the heart and passion of the volunteers. They believe in the work of the Women’s Foundation and it shows in their service and dedication. Volunteers provide an essential and vital service. We are indebted to the volunteers who give of their time, talent and resources to the Women’s Foundation.

The Women’s Foundation has launched a new Volunteer Recognition Program that pays tribute to the contributions of the volunteers and the impact they are making to transform our community. We will acknowledge and recognize three volunteers that have logged the most volunteer hours during each quarter. At the 2008 Grants Showcase and Volunteer Recognition, we will distinguish the volunteers who have logged the most volunteer hours over the past year with a special award.

Our first quarter (July-September) volunteer winners are Roslin Charles, Ashley Featherson and Ciara Conway. Roslin and Ashley are senior year students at the Memphis Grizzlies Academy. These students volunteer several afternoons each week assisting with administrative duties in the office. Rhodes College student, Ciara Conway volunteers each Monday and Wednesday afternoons assisting the Development Staff with various projects. The Women’s Foundation is fortunate to have these young women as volunteers. Their warm kind spirit and willingness to give back inspire us to continue our work.
