On Tuesday, October 9, 2007, the Women's Foundation took a field trip to Rhodes College, where volunteers eagerly awaited learning more about the Women's Foundation. Rachel Goodwin, from Kinney, the Rhodes volunteer program, organized 11 volunteers to participate in what they call a "service plunge." In this "plunge," volunteers had the opportunitiy to learn more about the work of the Women's Foundation and then put that knowledge into practice by calling potential donors and asking for a contribution to the 2007-2008 annual fund. Volunteers also invited those they reached to attend this year's annual Grants Showcase, which was held on Thursday, October 11.
The Women’s Foundation would like to send out a sincere thank you to the Rhodes College volunteers and Cricket Wireless for creating a successful Phon-a-thon.
